I’ve wanted a food processor for longer than I can say. God, I wanted to be part of that world of rapidly made pastry and hummus and pesto and soup and everything else you can use a food processor for. My mother is my food enabler, so for my recent birthday she got me this.

Beautiful, isn’t it? The real thing is much more beautiful than this ordinary stock photo, but I managed to misplace the cable for my tiny Lumix. To be honest, the photo situation around these parts has been depressing me. Losing my, admittedly elderly, 350D broke my heart into tiny pieces, which is materialistic and petty of me but I miss my Speedlite and my lenses and tripod, even if I mostly just use it all to artfully photograph lasagne and pies. Pies I’ll be making with my amazing new food processor.
I made Deb’s whole lemon tart. I have pictures of it, grainy pictures taken with my elbows pressed tight into my ribs for stability, but they are trapped on the Lumix. I honestly followed her recipe to the letter, pressing the processed pastry into the tart tin using a glass, and it was spectacular.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to comfort myself with unrecorded pies.
