I et that there blueberry mango tart, in its nutty tart shell, and I can vouch for its deliciousness. Not only gorgeous to look at, it was a succulent, fruity burst of tart pleasure. Lucky me. I et two pieces of it.

The colors on that tart are phenomenal!
However, I will have to wait several months for fresh blueberries to come back in season here in Ithaca.

Thanks for the tip on the filling. You're probably right about the crust - I got a bit experimental with my cocoa powder there, and also I was doing that thing where you realise you have all the stuff you need to make something and all the thinking stops there. Maybe a non-nut crust, next time? A regular nutless tart, if you will?

I did make it! The nut shell was great but I'm not sure it was a perfect match with the filling and blueberries. I doubled the filling and it turned out to be a little too much. Maybe increase it by a half, instead of doubling it.

The banana cake is done and dusted (based on this recipe - http://canadianbaker.blogspot.com/2005/10/3-cups-all-purpose-flour-2-tsp-baking.html - with the addition of dark chocolate chips and toasted hazelnuts). It's a very dense cake, takes about 1.5 hours to bake, but it's lovely and moist. I love my bundt pan.

Do it! That nut tart shell is the best thing that ever happened to me. Resting time in the fridge aside, it comes together in minutes.

I've stopped buying bananas for some reason, but a frozen banana is a wonderful thing to have on hand. Save me some cake.

I have an empty afternoon and am very tempted to make that right now. I will be the best wife ever.

Also on the books is to use up 4 frozen bananas and make a dense banana, chocolate chip and hazelnut Bundt cake to take to work tomorrow. I will be the best co-worker ever.
